Corrections
Checked October 8, 2026 · first publish
A countdown that is off by one day is wrong, not close. This page explains how we handle mistakes and records every correction we make.
What counts as a correction?
Any change to a fact a reader may have relied on: a date, a weekday, a time, a count, a rule we summarized, or a source we cited. Routine changes are not corrections. The daily change in day counts, a new year added to a table, or an organizer announcing a time we had marked "not announced" are updates. Those show up in the "Checked" line on the page itself.
How do we handle a reported error?
- We check the report against the original source, not against another website.
- If we were wrong, we fix the page and every other page that uses the same data, usually within one working day.
- We add an entry below with the date, the page, what was wrong and what it says now.
- We update the "Checked" line on the page so readers can see something changed.
We do not quietly change a date and move on. If a source itself changed, for example a school board revised its calendar, the log says that too, so it is clear the earlier version was right when published.

What we left out before publishing
These are not corrections, but they explain gaps you may notice:
- Four school districts (Los Angeles Unified, Hillsborough, Orange County FL, Wake County) are not in the school tables. We could not open their official calendars to confirm the dates.
- Holiday shipping deadlines for 2026 are not on the Christmas page yet. The carriers had not published them when we checked on Thu, Oct 8, 2026.
- Ramadan 2029 and 2030, Eid al-Fitr 2030 and Orthodox Easter are not listed. We found only one source, or two that disagree.
- Kickoff and unlock times for Super Bowl LXI and GTA VI are marked not announced.
How do I report an error?
Use the contact form. Include the page address and, if you can, a link to the source that shows the right date.
